Shrines are everywhere in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, offering challenges and puzzles for players to solve, including one at the Orochium Shrine that provides a rare reward. Soldier Construct II enemies usually carry a shield and melee weapon, but players are able to take out these enemies in one shot with a strong enough bow by aiming for the Construct’s large center eye.
While another wall blocks the player’s way forward, using Zelda TOTK‘s Ascend under the extended part of the right wall takes Link up to a ladder on their left. Players must continue traveling up by taking the ladder before crouching through a small gap. To their right, a large drop leads to another Construct enemy that players must beat while jumping down to this section.
How To Open the Green Door
This area has another Construct guarding a chest on the far side that contains five arrows that could come in handy later. Up the stairs leads to another set of doors players can move with Ultrahand, leading to a room full of lasers. Players must carefully avoid the lasers by crawling under them before taking down two more Constructs on the other side.
Running into any of these lasers causes the floor to drop, putting players in a long hallway with more lasers. Using Ascend under the tripped lasers lets players return to the previous room, but those who travel to the other end of the room can grab an important item. Using Ascend once again on the platform at the end of the hallway puts players in a room with a chest containing the Small Key to use on the green door.
How to Solve The Third Orochium Shrine Puzzle
Unlocking the green door with the Small Key gives players a small orb that must be carried into the room past the two Constructs from before. This room is vast, with a small green platform acting as an elevator on the path left from the main stairs. The orb acts as a key at the top of the Shrine here, as players place it into the small hole that appears at the top of the next set of stairs after riding the elevator.
Players who appreciate useful fuses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be pleased to see a powerful contraption behind a gate to the left of the hole that unlocks soon after players place the orb. A large glider can be placed at the ledge so that players can see past the hole, but players are required to keep the orb by attaching it to a small section of the glider that seems to fit the object.
How To Solve The Last Orochium Shrine Puzzle
The goal of this glider in Zelda: TOTK is to use the two fans on it to fly the contraption back to the beginning of the Shrine, across the large middle part of the structure with lasers that would block any other way back. Balancing Link on the glider before hitting both fans with a melee weapon activates the machine, taking players through the sky. At any point, players can hop off the glider and use Link’s paraglider to float back down.
Players should NOT add any of their own mechanisms onto the glider before activating it since this might cause the machine not to reach the bottom of the Shrine as intended.
Once the glider inevitably crashes into the far-off wall, players can collect the orb again by detaching it. On the right, there is another hole where the orb will fit to unlock a gate, leading players to the end of this Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Rewards For Solving Orochium Shrine
Unlike other Shrines players might have encountered in the game, there is not a hidden chest that contains an additional item. The two chests in Orochium Shrine had either an important item to get through a puzzle or simply more bow ammo to deal with the Construct enemies. One reward players earn are from the Constructs when they are defeated, which usually includes a Zonai Charge and a Soldier Construct II Horn for each.
Yet, the best reward comes at the very end, in the form of a special item called the Light of Blessing. Light of Blessings are a currency that may be traded at a Goddess Statue in exchange for a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to increase Link’s number of hearts or stamina wheel, respectfully.
