PFW Spring 2020: Modern and Elegant Collections

The Paris Fashion Week spring 2020 has brought many cool daywear alternatives so far. However, there were plenty of label which brought an elegant spin on things with plenty of thought-provoking perspectives. From delicate and feminine accents to bold metallic vibes, there are definitely plenty of exciting creations that will mesmerize fashionistas in the upcoming months. Here are some of our favorite picks:

PFW Spring 2020: Lanvin

Alber Elbaz didn’t go for obscure sources of inspiration for his spring 2020 Lanvin collection. In fact, it can be summed up in just one word “Shine”. The designer brought a fabulous display of dazzling feminine ensembles which oozed elegance and sophistication. Jewel tones and high shine fabrics like metallic lamé, satin and brocade defined most of the luxurious new offerings.

Sheaths and flapper dresses, glossy cardigans, pencil skirts, cool tweed jackets or jumpsuits and bold accessories were among the coolest highlights from the label’s show. View more from: Lanvin spring 2020 collection

PFW Spring 2020: Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci creative director, Peter Copping, focused on the masculine meets feminine idea. For the ‘masculine’ touches, he took inspiration from the “eighteenth century, when men were romantic”. The result? A breath-taking array of artsy floral prints, pleated skirts, super refined asymmetric chiffon, lace and satin dresses, chic jackets with ruffle details and many more ultra romantic, dainty pieces. The focus of the the new line could be summed up in just three words: pure, unadulterated elegance. View more from: Nina Ricci spring 2020 collection

PFW Spring 2020: Manish Arora

Designer Manish Arora made flapper girls cool again with a colorful, new line inspired by Josephine Baker. The prolific designer proved once again that boldness, humor and whimsical accents are some of his biggest strengths design-wise. PFW Spring 2020: Roland Mouret

Designer Roland Mouret was one of the many designers who put an elegant spin on athletic-inspired clothing with very interesting results. His new line might have seemed contradictory to those who are used with his sophisticated designs, but that was exactly the point: “I like contradictions. Today I shall contradict myself. That is the one way I have of asserting my liberty,” he stated. The line brought a myriad of chic cop tops paired with pencil skirts, oversized coats with plenty of abstract patterns, several gorgeous bodycon dresses and plenty of cool pointy toe sandals. PFW Spring 2020: Dior

Raf Simons made no secret as to what the theme of the new Dior spring 2020 collection was: flowers. However, the designer didn’t try to invoke a romantic, innocent allure. According to his show notes, the idea was “a beautiful rose garden becomes poisonous,” hence the title “Against Nature”. This was his way of putting his unique twist on the label’s style signature. The new line focused mostly on daywear, bringing new interpretations of the iconic Dior Bar jacket, chic pleated skirts with colorful floral prints, asymmetrical dresses and Fifties-inspired eveningwear dresses.
